TEHRAN -- Head of the Association of Iranian Documentary Cinema Producers here on Friday criticized the international communities for their silence on detainment of the Iranian documentary filmmakers Saeid Aboutaleb and Soheil Karimi by the U.S. forces in Iraq.

The two IRIB's documentary filmmakers were detained by the U.S. forces in Diwaniyah, 75 miles southeast Baghdad, on July 1 while filming the condition of Iraqi people. "If the event occurred in every corner of the world, the international communities would not remain indifferent," said Morteza Razzaq-Karimi, adding: "Documentarians are curious and their work is revealing; this sounds bitter for some people."

Asking international organizations for an action to force the U.S. to set free the documentarians he hoped the hidden facts on the life of Iraqi people would be revealed by liberation of the documentarians.
